1. Bent - Bent is a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and takatapui group for people under 25. They offer a safe place for young people to be "out" and to socialise. Bent meets at least every month to talk, support each other and to have a good time. They do stuff like tramping, barbeques and video nights. Bent was set up by the Taranaki Pride Alliance and the Health Promotion Unit at the Hospital.

2. Takataapui - Takataapui is a Maori word usually used to describe a Maori gay, bisexual or trans-gender person. Taranaki has a group where young takataapui get together for informal social activities, however currently it isnt active.
